History of the Institution

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) stands as one of India’s foremost educational authorities, recognized for its rigorous academic standards, comprehensive curriculum, and commitment to holistic student development. Within this esteemed framework, our institution proudly pioneered the introduction of CBSE education in the province—marking a transformative milestone in the region’s academic landscape. The decision to implement the CBSE curriculum was formally deliberated and endorsed during an education committee meeting, with a shared vision to provide quality education to students from all socio-economic backgrounds. The school was thus established with the core objective of ensuring inclusivity and equity through an affordable fee structure, extending educational opportunities to learners from underprivileged and modest families.

The foundation of the school IMMACULATE INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL, Veerapandi Pirivu, Press colony (PO), Coimbatore – 641 019 was formally laid on 10th June 2019, with the presence of a distinguished delegates, Rev. Sr. Philomen Mary – Vice provincial, Rev. Sr. Devika Mary – Province Procurator, Rev. Sr. Valentina Mary – Medical Councillor, Rev. Sr. Esther Mary – Superior, Rev. Sr. Carmel Mary – Matric principal, Rev. Sr. Anselam Mary and convent sisters from the congregation, signifying the collaborative vision of spiritual and academic leadership. At the helm of this transformative journey Sr. John Britto Rathina Mary, who was appointed to lead the institution from its inception. Her visionary leadership and steadfast commitment became the driving force behind every initiative, fostering an environment of academic rigor and holistic growth. The school initially commenced operations with an enrollment of 39 students across the primary grades, under her guidance and zeal the enrollments have been gradually increased to 59, from LKG to Grade V. These students were distributed as follows: 15 in LKG, 7 in UKG, 12 in Grade I, 11 in Grade II, 4 in Grade III, 6 in Grade IV, and 3 in Grade V—setting the stage for a future dedicated to excellence.

In 2020, the institution embarked on a formal process to secure the No Objection Certificate (NOC), a crucial step in ensuring its legitimacy and alignment with educational standards. Under Sr. John Britto Rathina Mary’s prudent guidance, the school diligently addressed all requisite governmental protocols. This culminated in the successful issuance of the NOC on 25th March 2022, bearing recognition number 001-S-02-0067-0523, a foundational document that paved the way for further advancements. The institution’s academic offerings were initially confined to LKG through Grade V. However, subsequent to receiving the NOC and in alignment with its long-term vision, the institution set in motion a strategic expansion of its educational provisions.

Furthering its academic progression, the school applied on 28th June 2023 to introduce secondary-level education. In response to the evolving demands of CBSE accreditation, Sr. John Britto Rathina Mary spearheaded a comprehensive transformation of the school’s infrastructure to meet the stringent benchmarks of academic and institutional excellence. This extensive development included the establishment of advanced educational facilities such as a Composite Science Laboratory, a Mathematics Laboratory, a Computer Laboratory, and a well-equipped Library. In addition, both indoor and outdoor sports arenas were constructed to support holistic student development through extracurricular engagement.

To enhance accessibility and inclusivity, the school implemented CwSN-compliant toilets and constructed a dedicated ramp for students with special needs. Complementary civil enhancements, including the construction of a secure compound wall, professional wall painting, and complete whitewashing of the building, were also undertaken—reflecting the institution’s commitment to creating a safe, welcoming, and visually inspiring learning environment.

In continuation of its compliance with statutory requirements, the school applied for the renewal of recognition and was granted approval on 21st December 2023, bearing the recognition number 004-S-02-0067-0326.

A significant step in the school’s development was the official inspection by CBSE Board panel members -Mrs. Lakshmi from Sreevatsa Viswanathan Vivekananda Vidyalaya Senior Secondary School, Chennai and Mrs. Swathi from Sri Chaitanya Techno School, Coimbatore, on 30th January 2024. Following years of tireless effort and strategic planning, this school has become a beacon of quality education rooted in national standards—an achievement that reflects both institutional commitment and community vision.

A defining moment in the school’s trajectory occurred on 3rd May 2024, when the institution officially received its affiliation from the CBSE Board, New Delhi, under affiliation number 1931624, along with the school code 56794. Following this milestone, the institution was officially declared as IMMACULATE INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL (CBSE), marking its formal recognition under the national educational framework. This affiliation not only affirms the institution’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence but also symbolizes the culmination of years of planning, dedication, and perseverance in establishing the school as a leading centre of education in the region.

 After receiving its official CBSE affiliation, the school significantly broadened its academic scope, extending its offerings up to Grade 10. This expansion was not only a monumental milestone but also underscored the school’s unyielding commitment to providing a comprehensive and high-caliber educational experience for students across all levels.

As of 2025, the student body has grown steadily to a total of 140 students, a testament to the increasing demand for quality education in the region. This growth reflects the institution’s ability to foster an academic environment that meets the evolving needs of the community, while adhering to the highest standards of educational excellence.
